officiate a wedding: check.
in the last few weeks, i’ve had the honor and privilege of officiating two weddings.
i’m a minister and it’s humbling to have the opportunity to rock such ceremonies. i hope i did so in a manner than honored my friends, their families, and [most importantly] the Creator.
i can honestly say i was really nervous for both. in a break from my normal m.o., i wrote out everything i said to make sure i did them both justice (and didn’t embarrass my bride). save for a “please place your finger on her hand” mistake, we got the job done.
the first was for ben and sarah rigsby. rigs is an insanely talented friend and co-worker and they got hitched up on november 7th. [that's their photo to the right.] the service took place in an awesome venue between 1st and 2nd in downtown nashville. they got married in the round, surrounded by friends and family. it was an unforgettable experience, for which i am extremely thankful.
the second was for lee and amie cooke. lee is one of my best friends & one of the people i respect most in the world. both he and amie serve with us in jamaica. having known lee for 1/3 of my life, being able to serve he and amie in this manner was one of greatest honors of my life. they got hitched up on november 21st. people laughed. people cried. it was cool.
having done weddings, funerals and baptisms (the three big “events” in life), i can saw without reservation or hesitation being a part of a baptism is by far the most incredible. being the first to see someones face when they come up out of the water at that moment is indescribable.
no more weddings on the horizon, but i hope to have the honor again… it was fun.
